Acts 13:8 NKJV
“But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.”
Acts 13:8 NKJV
Many received the message and came to believe in Jesus when Paul and Barnabas were sent by the Church of Antioch under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
But there were also people under the influence of satan that resisted and did not want people to come to know God.
Paul was sent by the Holy Spirit to do the perfect will of God yet he was not excluded from experiencing opposition. Instead, Paul fought it till the end.
We are all at war in the spirit. There is an enemy that doesn't want God’s people to progress in the Lord.
There is an enemy that wants to bring discouragement, misunderstanding, diversion, confusion and so on especially when we want to progress in the Lord.
But be encouraged that Jesus has defeated the enemy and has given us the power over every power of the enemy.
In every opposition, we fight from the position of victory that we already received through Christ our Lord.
The enemy may put up with long fights but we have to stand strong till the end because we know that in the end, the battle belongs to the Lord.
The Lord never lost a battle and was never defeated because He is the Creator, the great I am and the Almighty God.
If we face opposition, when we are led by the Lord, it is a good sign we are following God and doing the right thing.
Let us be strong and be encouraged when we face opposition as it is a mark of God’s disciples. It shows that the enemy is resisting what the Lord wants to do in and through our lives.
