Hebrews‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The hardness of the heart has been one of the main reasons the people of God were not able to live and experience the promises of God.

The promises of God are for sure. It is yes and amen. It has the power to penetrate through every power of the enemy.

There is nothing that can stop the promises of God from coming to pass in our lives except for someone who hardens their heart.

What does it mean for our hearts to harden? It means that we don’t believe fully what God has said.

It means we don’t follow His directions when He tells us and we do the opposite of what God had said.

We can sing worship songs to the Lord, read the Bible, and go to church every Sunday and yet still have a hardened heart.

How do we know we are hardened towards God? It is when we don’t do what He has said, we have hardened our hearts.

Putting away what God has spoken for us to do today is hardening our hearts.

Not forgiving someone that has hurt us is hardening our hearts and anything that is not in line with God and His word will only harden our hearts towards Him.

But if we constantly do what God says, constantly follow His ways and constantly live life as He lived here on earth, we will have a heart after Him.

Don’t be deceived by thinking if we spend time with Him, hearing Him alone is good enough. It is after spending time with God, after hearing Him, DO WE DO WHAT HE SAYS? Not doing what God has said is what makes a person’s heart harden or not yielded towards God.

Let us be quick to do when God speaks, when He reveals to us through His word, through His Spirit and through His church.

Blessings
