‭‭I John‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.”

‭‭I John‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The bible tells us that there are three that bear witness or testify and that is the Spirit, the water and the blood.

There are many explanations of the witness and what it means but the most important part is that all three agree as one.

This means the Spirit which God has breathed into us, has liberated us from a fleshly being to a spiritual being.

It means that we are now sons of God and we take on the Divine nature of God. For it is no longer we who live but Christ Jesus who lives in us through His Holy Spirit.

The water speaks of God’s word that shows us who we are in Him. The word of God washes our mind and hearts from the ways of the world to the ways of God.

The water speaks of a new birth. That now we are all born again through Christ our Lord.

And the blood speaks of the sacrifice of Jesus, the judgment that was laid on Jesus for the entire world.

The blood speaks of the life of God. The life is in the blood. As Abel’s blood cries out, how much more the blood of the Son of the living God cries out that we have been made the righteousness of God.

The blood speaks that death has no power over us, for we are under the blood of Jesus.

No weapon that formed against us shall prosper because we are all under the blood of Jesus.

All three speak in unity, lead us in unity and establish us in unity. We are one in Christ and live our life in agreement with Him.

Let us bear witness of the power of God that we have received in agreement as one.
