Romans 15:30 NKJV
Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me,
Romans 15:30 NKJV
Paul often encouraged churches and his listeners to pray, but this is a very heavy request because of the mission that was ahead of him.
He urged the saints to strive in prayers. This is a call to pray for Paul's emotions, desires, mind and heart to not be sidetracked by the forces of the enemy.
Paul urged believers to stand with him in prayer against giving in to the vicious religious spirit that tries to manipulate people into bondage and fear.
This is not a prayer asking God to give Paul strength, Paul teaches the church that all things pertaining to life and godliness HAS BEEN GIVEN unto us.
Therefore, this prayer is about Paul being strengthened in the power that God has given him and not fall for the flesh.
In the flesh, they don't deserve God's goodness but God's love reaches out to them.
So Paul had to guard his heart and mind. He had to remain in God and in His power throughout the mission he was about to enter.
We need to speak to ourselves and others about all that Christ has done for us. Stirring ourselves up in prayer through Christ fervently.
Sometimes we need to press through, strive, and be persistent in prayer to build our spirit man in Christ for the things that are ahead of us.
Let us stir each other up in the Holy Spirit, in His promises and in His resurrection power.
Blessings
