Jonah‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.”

‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

One of the most famous story in Sunday school that most children would have heard - Jonah swallowed by a whale.

This story mainly brings to remembrance about Jonah swallowed by the whale but the heart of the story is about a God who loves His people and doesn’t want them to be destroyed.

This is a powerful story of a city that have turned against the Lord and did things that were so evil until it has come up before the Lord.

This means that the people of Nineveh were living in open sin as their lifestyle. Hurting, destroying and demoralising each other causing them to come to a place of judgment.

In the height of their wickedness, God prepared His servant, prophet Jonah who is a Jew to go to the Gentile nations to warn them of the judgment that is going to come unless they repent.

God does not write off people because they sin, people write themselves off because of their own pride by continuing in their lust.

God showed mercy and gave mercy to Nineveh. Nineveh humbled themselves, received mercy from God and lived.

We all once lived life like the people of Nineveh but God loved us so much, gave His only son for our redemption and to save us.

We who have received Jesus have received mercy, saved from eternal death and receive everlasting life.

We live in the world that sin is becoming a lifestyle, it causes so much hurt and pain to all mankind. Suicidal, rape, murder and identity crisis are skyrocketing.

God is sending His mercy to the world. We are the agent of His mercy. We are the one to walk in His glory and power to show God’s mercy to the world.

We who believe in Jesus are the hope of our families, cities, nations and the world. Let us spread God’s mercy by sharing Jesus to the world.

Let us be the mercy of God by sharing the good news of the kingdom to all mankind.

Blessings
