Acts‬ ‭16:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There are many views concerning being led by the Holy Spirit. How to be led and how do we know it is the Holy Spirit that is leading us to do it.

Many of us were taught to wait for the Holy Spirit and then go. We were exposed to the teaching not to go ahead of the Holy Spirit which does make sense in some way.

But looking at the life of Jesus, He knew what was His mission and went about accomplishing it.

He was impressed by the Holy Spirit of His mission on earth and did it. Jesus did not wait for the impression but did what He saw His Father do.

Paul showed a similar pattern of living his life serving the Lord.

Paul was not impressed to go by the Holy Spirit. He knew his mission to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Paul kept going, kept preaching, baptising and kept building the body of Christ.

Here we can see that the impression Paul received from the Holy Spirit is where not to go.

Many of us are waiting for impression from the Holy Spirit to do things when Jesus has revealed to us through His word what we should be doing as His children.

The great commission is not for residing, it is a picture of what we should be doing yet how many of us are waiting on God to lead or to be impressed first in our hearts before we do it.

Paul did not wait for an impression to go. He went everywhere and the Holy Spirit showed to him where not to go.

This tells me that we believers should be on the move doing what Jesus did.

God is always moving, always working and always reaching out to all.

We know that this is true. Therefore, we who follow Jesus should not be sitting down waiting on God for impressions.

We should be moving with the Lord who is always moving and working with the Lord who is always working.

Let us all rise up with boldness in our walk with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Let us begin to do all that He has shown us.

Blessings
