‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NKJV‬

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.”

‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NKJV‬

Paul gave Timothy some last instructions for Paul knew that his time on earth is coming to an end.

Paul shared his life experiences in regard to God’s word and his call as a minister of the gospel.

Paul had seen believers go astray by their own lust.

Paul had gone through persecution and trials.

Paul had experienced failures yet Paul had succeeded.

Paul had experienced contradictions with the disciples and Paul also had been a persecutor of Christ.

With all these experiences that Paul had, he encouraged Timothy to stand his ground to the truth that he has learned and keep on fighting till the end.

Paul taught Timothy that there will be many that will unite to teach doctrines that will fulfil their own lust instead of fulfilling the call of God.

Mankind wants to make a way to reach God, a better way to do things for God, and a better way to live life all in the name of serving the Lord.

Jesus said I am the way. This means the road to righteousness, holiness and to be at peace with God has been made. Anything else will lead people astray.

Don’t try to make new ways.

Just follow the road that Jesus had prepared for us. Don’t try to do things with the wisdom of this world but obey His word and follow His leading.

All these things are so important and Paul wanted to teach Timothy that no matter what happens, no matter what the new trend may look like, he must remain to the teachings of Christ and continue to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God.

We are living in a time and a season when God’s word is being twisted to fit their own agenda which is for personal gain.

God’s word is meant to bless, equip, strengthen and empower people to go forth and fulfil God’s purpose in their lives.

Let us stay true to Jesus and the foundation that He has laid. Living life as a new covenant believer and as followers of Jesus Christ.

Blessings
