“the one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul comforted the Philippian church for they were concerned about Paul’s well-being.

Paul had been in prison for at least 3 years at the time this letter was written.

Paul said that it was all for the good of the gospel and he rejoiced over what had happened through his time in prison.

He was able to speak and share the gospel boldly in the palace and in courts and many heard about Jesus.

Here Paul noted that he also rejoiced over people who mocked him and gossiped about him of the things he said.

For Paul, he didn’t mind the mocking and ridicule he got for they too helped him spread the news of the gospel.

Many mocked Paul because of what Paul had said. That means the gospel is being spoken through their mouth.

Paul said I would take that as kingdom extension even though the mockers.

What an amazing way to live. Finding every positive point to be encouraged in every negative environment for the sake of the gospel.

This gave such boldness to others preaching the gospel as they saw the way Paul lived his life.

We too can live in this way because we have the same power that Paul had received from the Lord.

We too can be bold and be strong in every aspect of our lives no matter what challenges may come our way.

Let us look up to Jesus, His power, and His word and be led by His Spirit. Let us find every good thing to rejoice and give God all the praise.

Blessings

Ps Ambrose
