‭‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;”

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

James concluded his statement and teaching on the word of truth. He taught us how we should go through trials and tribulations with perseverance, and believing in God’s word.

Let every man be swift to hear and slow to speak. It is important that we understand the power that we are about to release which changes the conditions of our life.

Therefore, it is important that we train ourselves to be swift to hear. That needs a lot of practice for the majority of us because we are all very good at speaking first and then thinking about it later.

Propelled by our emotions, anger, and the news we hear, it causes us to speak as it is instead of speaking what we really want to see happen.

Life and faith in God are in the hearing and hearing by the word of God. If we hear right, then we will speak right.

Therefore, hearing the word of God and hearing the truth becomes the seed that will bring forth the harvest when we speak.

The power to bring about death is not with satan and the power to bring about life in this world is not with God but is in our tongue.

Death and life as the proverbs say are in the power of the tongue. It is important that we hear and know what we are speaking before we speak.

Let us be quick to hear God and His counsel, hear what the Holy Spirit is saying and just live by Him.

Blessings
