John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”

John the Baptist had such assurance of who Jesus is. He is willing to put his entire ministry on the line for Jesus. He proclaims that all he has done in the wilderness is for Jesus.

It is easy for us who read the Bible to know who is who but for John, it has got to be the inward witness of God so strong that he did not miss to pick up that witness in his heart of the presence of Jesus in his midst.

John is constantly focused on fulfilling his call and doing what God is leading him to do and speaking of the coming of Christ. This must have contributed to his witness in his heart.

His mind would have been about preparing the way for Christ, his life revolves around being ready for Christ and making other's ready to receive Christ.

This is how we too should strengthen our inner man, by looking unto Jesus, doing what is in His heart and set our lives first for His purpose.

Many are going to come claiming to be God in the last days. There will be many ways, many ideas and only those who have a strong relationship with God and the Holy Spirit are going to witness what is the truth in their hearts.

Keeping God first in our lives is not just the prayer we pray and the meetings we attend. Keeping God first is putting God ahead of everything, God above every activity and celebration.

It is the little things that we assume that is not so important that are the ones that are going to make a big difference in shaping what is first in our life.

Let us draw close to God in every area of our life. Be filled with Him in every area of our lives.

If ANYONE is IN Christ, he or she is a new creation. Let everything in us be found in Christ.
