Luke 5:4 NKJV

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

Luke 5:4 NKJV

After Jesus taught the multitude, He said to Simon Peter to launch out into the deep.

This is straight after talking to the multitude. The multitudes might have been watching to see what will happen.

Simon Peter told Jesus they have fished all night and caught no fish but will do according to His word.

The preaching and teaching of Jesus has to be followed by action. We need to put every word of God and every promise into practice.

If we don't practise the word of God, we will start a religion that has a form but no power.

Every word Jesus taught has an ending to it which is launching into the deep.

Jesus gave his disciples authority and said go.

Jesus sent his disciples out to do the work of the ministry.

The disciples came back with signs and wonders following them. Now they not only have the teachings of Jesus but also the experiential knowledge of what Jesus taught them.

We are called to launch into the deep, to step out in faith and do the promises of God.

We need to keep on doing what God has said because it is not just about us but it is about saving the world in Christ Jesus.

Let us be bold to put God's word into practice by the power of His Holy Spirit that dwells in us and experience the glorious life of Christ.

Blessings
