For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

Hebrews 10:2 NKJV

The writer is speaking about the sin offering to be made year after year that could not take the sin-consciousness away from mankind.

But the sin offering that Jesus made by His death on the cross has made it possible for mankind to be cleansed once and for all from sin and being sin-conscious.

The payment for sin has been made and all we need to do is to have Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Allowing His word and His works to wash us from our old self to a new self.

In the old covenant, we repent because we are sinners but in the new covenant, we repent because we are forgiven.

We have been made whole in the spirit but we need to cleanse and renew ourselves with His Word so that our habits and lifestyles change from old to the new in Christ.

If we continue to live in sin, it will harden our hearts, cloud our sights and will destroy our life.

To live free from sin and sin-consciousness is to incline our hearts to His word, be enlightened through His spirit and living in the glory of Christ.

We must be free from sin consciousness because that's what Christ has done for us.

We must be God-conscious and God-centred as a believer in Christ.

Let us guard our mind and heart against being sin conscious to God-conscious all the days of our lives.
