Philippians 3:2 NKJV

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!

Philippians 3:2 NKJV

Paul called them dogs, referring to the people who practise Judaism who bring people away from living by faith to living by the works and rituals.

Evil workers are those who use God's word for their personal gain, twisting the word of truth to fit their own beliefs.

Mutilation or concision is people who cut themself to hurt themself. Using the word to condemn themself instead of being convicted.

Paul warned us of these influences in the fellowship and in our community because they will draw us away from the truth of God's word.

It is important that we are not moved by passionate presentations that are twisted for personal gain.

Paul's warning is that we don't move away from the foundation Jesus laid for us all, that in Christ we live, move and have our being.

Christ died and rose again so that we can live in Him and live out His life in this world. Jesus gave us all things pertaining to life and godliness.

That is what we need to follow, meditate on and put into practice all that we have received in Christ.

Let us be conscious of God, His promises and His leading and not be persuaded by the doctrines of man.

Blessings
