“Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’ ”

After Joshua heard the word of the Lord, Joshua took action and followed through with the word he had received. Joshua and his generation conquered the promised land.

One of the main reasons Joshua and his generation possessed the land God promised is because they put God's word into action.

The purpose of every word of God that we hear is to apply it in our lives. It is meant to change the cause of action and thoughts, and to take hold of our promises in God.

It is important to read the word of God and it is good to meditate on His word. But if we don't apply the word and live by what we hear, then our reading and meditation on the word have lost their purpose.

The ultimate purpose of knowing God, loving God and living in God is to make Him known to the world.

When people get married, they announce to the world that they are officially together as one. How much more should we announce to the world about our experience and love with Almighty God.

Joshua took hold of the promises of God by doing what he heard God say. All the promises of God for our lives are there set for us to take hold of by doing what the word of God says

Let us not be hearers, readers, and meditators only but apply and live out the word of God daily.
