Galatians 5:2 NKJV

Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.

Galatians 5:2 NKJV

Paul is speaking to the Galatian believers that are still keeping to the Jewish tradition. They observed certain laws and carried out things that are still under the law.

Paul gave a very stern warning to them and told them that there is only one way. Either they choose Jesus and live in His grace and His Spirit or live according to the law.

If anyone tries to keep the law, they are trying to be righteous by their works. This would make the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and all that He has done for us null and void.

But if we live by the grace of God and live our life by faith in Christ Jesus, we are then the righteousness of God.

In the flesh, we always want to do something to earn peace, love, mercy and to be righteous. All this is pride that goes to show that we can attain it in our way and with our own effort.

Paul is teaching us today that if we replace Jesus and all that He has done for us with anything else, we are going back to works and taking back the yoke of bondage on ourselves.

If we hear a direction that is not according to what Jesus has done or accomplished, we need to discard that from our lives quickly.

What Jesus has given mankind, Himself, His word and His Spirit are all we ever need to live here on earth and for eternity.

We must be careful not to bring in or take part with the new age teachings, yoga, palm reading, sorcery and false doctrine.

We must be alert to stay in the grace of God and live life in Christ as a new creation. For it is in Christ we have received grace upon grace and strength upon strength for all the days of our lives.

Blessings
