I Corinthians 9:27 NKJV
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
I Corinthians 9:27 NKJV
Paul shared to the believers that everyone who competes as an athlete will discipline themselves and bring their body to subjection to win the race.
The athlete will make the changes with regards to their food, their weight, their mental focus and they will get rid of any form of distractions, so that they are not pulled down by it.
These are the things an athlete will do to win something that is perishable.
How much more Paul is saying that we must bring every member of our own body to subjection to what Christ has done for us.
If we see the importance to walk the life of Jesus, then we must be prepared to bring our bodies in every aspect to align with what God has given to us.
We must train our minds, our words and our responses like a child of God, like an overcomer, like the head and function under the peace that surpasses all understanding.
For we all have received grace upon grace to fight a good fight of faith till the end.
God has supplied all that we need and it’s time to take up all that was given and put it into practice.
This is important so that we will not be disqualified because we did not exercise and use what was given.
We must not let the enemy win when we were destined to win.
We are in a spiritual war, the biggest war is in the mind and if we can bring that in agreement with God’s word, we have won the battle.
