‭‭‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.”

‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah did not obey God and he went doing the opposite.

The Bible tells us that Jonah moved away from the presence of the Lord.

We know that no one can be away from the presence of the Lord because Psalm 139 tells us that we cannot run away from God’s presence. He is omnipresent.

Therefore moving away from His presence here means moving away from obeying God’s instructions.

Disobedience is living away from His protection, His provision, and His directions.

As a believer in Christ, we live, move, and have our being in Christ.

But the moment we don’t want to follow His directions, we miss out on the abundant life that He has prepared.

God’s presence carries everything that we need in life and obedience will plant our feet in His presence.

Obedience does not only bring blessings to ourselves but to the entire nation and beyond.

Obedience may look small and insignificant but it will bring the very thing we all look for and be satisfied.

Don’t let disobedience cut us off from the blessings God had prepared for us even before the world were formed.

Let us trust and obey God by doing all that He has revealed to us.

Blessings
