Matthew 5:29 NKJV

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. Matthew 5:29 NKJV

This is not a commandment but instead an illustration or an example to highlight an important decision we have to make daily. Jesus is changing religious thinking to the truth that is meant to set people free. Jesus also said that if we keep all the law and failed just one, we are guilty of it all. This is the reason Jesus gave us His whole life so that we can see, feel, taste, hear and know through Him. Every decision we make today will have an impact on our faith in Christ. When we decide to believe in and all that He has done, it adds up towards living in God. If we choose to believe in the things of the world, it draws us away from the truth where darkness awaits. Jesus is teaching us to be aware not to give in to the pleasures of the world for one little thing leads to another. Our thoughts and our intentions are to be set on Him so that we can progress to live in Christ. Jesus is not saying that we will go to hell because we look at sin once. What He is saying is that if we keep allowing ungodly things and entertain them, eventually it is going to take hold of our freedom of choice and cause us to reject God. The entertainment that the world puts out there is to indulge us in sin. It is meant to change our thinking and derail us from the truth. We have Jesus who took our place of death and He breathed life into us. Let us continue to fix our eyes, keep our mind and live our lives in Christ Jesus our Lord. Blessings Ambrose Francis
