Acts 14:20 NKJV
However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. Acts 14:20 NKJV
Paul was stoned by the multitude and was dragged out of the city for preaching the gospel. Paul must have been terribly wounded for the multitude thought he was dead. Paul's body must have been dragged and thrown out of the city to show that he is not worthy to be buried in their city. The disciples that gathered around Paul were the young converts from Lystra that had been discipled by the apostle. They were bold to come and stand beside Paul. They honoured Paul as a servant of Christ and their leader. When they gathered around Paul, something miraculous happened. Paul rose up well and was completely restored. Nothing was mentioned about binding up his wounds or needed to be carried back into the city. He was bold to walk back into the city that threw him out. Paul went into the city and the next day went about his travelling plans to preach the gospel. Paul stood till the end and we can only read what was recorded about his trials of preaching the gospel. The love of God in Paul covered all the pain, healed all his bruises and fueled in the life he needed to bring the kingdom of God. There is no burn out in the kingdom of God when it is fueled by God's love. Let us continue to be on fire for God by fixing our hearts and minds on His love for us. Blessings Ambrose Francis
