Acts 4:24 NKJV
“So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,”
Acts 4:24 NKJV
When Peter and John were arrested for healing a man, they were questioned by the religious leaders about by what authority they did this and forbade them to speak.
Peter and John said, "Then you be the judge whether we should be listening to God or to you."
So they gathered together and lifted up their voices and praised God that He is great.
How many of us will take that approach after going through what Peter and John went through.
Their eyes were not on the persecution but on the manifestation of God’s power and glory.
We will be persecuted, we will be challenged if we are preaching the gospel of His kingdom but we need to be anchored in Christ, like Peter and John.
We need to be speaking the truth without fear and keep doing the work of God.
Praising God is a sign that we look to Him above all else. Praising God in the midst of a storm indicates that we have greater confidence in our God than in the power of that storm.
Peter, John and the church lifted their voices to say God is almighty and all the power of God in them is working miracles, signs and wonders.
What is the first word that comes out of our mouths when we hear a bad report?
The first words that should come out are words of praise unto our God.
Let us continue to praise God and stand firm in doing the kingdom work and bring glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Blessings
