Galatians 5:8 NKJV
“This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.”
Galatians 5:8 NKJV
Paul spoke to the Galatians about their choice off mixing the grace of God and keeping the law.
If it can happen to the Galatian church, it can happen to anyone.
Paul said that they ran well and believed the finished work of Christ, then they started to mix it with their own works.
This persuasion from grace to works does not come from God, for God delivered us from works of the law and blessed us with grace.
God came down to earth because man cannot attain the forgiveness of sin nor have eternal life through our works.
Therefore, God came and died for all mankind so that we can live in His grace and love.
To go back to works by keeping the law is to deny the work of the cross and what Christ has done for us.
The works of man edify self - I fasted, I prayed, and I have attained it.
All these works will exalt the self and not God.
But if we say that God has done this and God has given all these to us, then we are glorifying God and not self.
Grace is the power and provision for all believers to walk as Christ walked here on earth.
We can live holy because God has made us holy.
We can live in God’s abundance because that is what God has given to us.
Living by the grace of God will eliminate condemnation.
We will not judge people by what they did but by what they have become in Christ.
When we love God because He first loved us, we will extend that same love towards one another.
Grace is not to cover sin, to cover our laziness or to live a reckless life.
Grace is the power to live, conquer sin, become productive and live a purposeful life.
Let us not let anyone persuade us away from the grace of God.
Let us live by the grace God has given to us.
Blessing,
Ps Ambrose
