Acts 11:2 NKJV
And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him, Acts 11:2 NKJV
It is amazing how our human tradition and customs can blind us of the truth about God's grace. The very one who is saved by it can stand against others from receiving it. In today's world, it happens with denominations against denominations, churches against each other and believers against believers. We often forget the very reason we are saved. It is totally 100% the grace of God. It's a gift for all mankind. This grace that God has given is not restricted by our customs, people group, age, colour or what religion we are born into. This is available for all to receive through Christ our Lord. People have difficulties accepting people who have committed a major crime to be forgiven or even to receive the new life in Christ. This is because we measure them by their deeds. If we who have not committed those crimes measure it by our own deeds, we too will be disqualified from receiving the gift of God. The truth is no matter how good of a saint we are or how bad a sinner we may be, the qualification to be saved can only be by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is said that instead of believers joining Peter to rejoice in the new family in Christ, they despised them. We must be careful that this does not happen with us. We must be aware when those who are newly joining the church or ministry starts to do well and grow fast in the kingdom of God, we who are older in age and years must not get intimidated and discouraged by it. We are supposed to rejoice and celebrate as a family in the things we are flourishing. We should be excited over every achievement and effort that people put in for the kingdom of God. Let us get together to build each other in the grace we have all received in Christ Jesus. Building each other in the love and grace of God. Blessings Ambrose Francis Xavier
