Matthew 7:18 AMP

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Matthew 7:18 AMP

This is a clear message that either one cannot bear fruit of different kinds but only of its kind. The important thing in this passage is to understand what is a good tree and what is a bad tree. Every good seed that is planted does not promise a good fruit because the fruit is determined by what kind of nutrients the tree takes in. The tree here speaks of us and the kind of fruits we will bear if we take in the right nutrition. Jesus said in Mark 10:18 that no one is good but God. Therefore, in order for a tree to be good is to have God in us. The good fruits that we need to produce are found only in Christ Jesus. Whom by His death and resurrection made us to a new creation, a good tree. Jesus, by His sacrifice, made us good to produce good fruits. The picture of a tree is painted by Jesus to give us a clear understanding of how it works. There are three main areas with regards to a tree. The soil, the main trunk and the branches. Jesus said that in John 15 that My Father is the gardener, Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We know that we have the right and good soil because our Father in heaven is the gardener. We also know that we have the right vine because Jesus brought all the resource of the Father to us. Therefore, we as a branch need to agree and allow all from the Father through the Son to flow through us in order to produce good fruits, bringing ourselves into an agreement with what Christ has done which will produce good fruits. Nothing else can produce good fruits that will last to eternity, but that which comes from our Father through Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. Let us come into agreement with what Christ has done for us and allow the Holy Spirit of God to bring enlightenment to our whole life. Blessings Ambrose Francis
