Philippians 4:14 NKJV

Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress.

Philippians 4:14 NKJV

Paul was talking about the financial support and encouragement the Philippians were to him.

Not that Paul was in distress but by giving towards Paul's work, the Philippian church kept stress away from Paul.

It is interesting that when we do what God tells us and directs us to do concerning giving, both parties are blessed abundantly.

Paul talks about the opportunity, a chance and a platform to increase in the things of God when we help others in the things of God.

What we sow is what we are going to reap. Helping Paul to be stress-free will cause the giver to be free from stress.

Our giving should not be because someone asks for it. Our giving should be because we want to give. After all, we are the blessed children of God.

We don't give out of our pocket so to speak, we give out of our heart. When the heart is full, we become richer than the richest, generous and kind beyond human capability.

The Philippians were giving towards Paul's work because they were nourished by his leadership and encouraged by what Paul brings through God's word.

When we are grateful for what we have received from God,we would be doing the same for others.

If our giving is going to come out of demands, have to or forced to then that giving will not bring any fruit.

When we give towards God, it must come from a place of total gratitude towards God and those who bring His truth.

Let us be cheerful givers in every aspect of our lives.

Blessings

Ambrose Francis
