Ruth‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before.”

Ruth found favour and was blessed among all the other women because she served her mother-in-law well and followed her.

Ruth left behind her own family and land and followed Naomi for one purpose, that is to take care of her.

She rose from someone who collected the leftovers of the field to become the owner of the field.

When we go to serve others that the Lord has placed in our lives, favour will come looking for us.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:29 that those who leave their father and mother for His sake will receive a hundredfold and inherit eternal life.

That is what happened to Ruth, she received a hundredfold blessing and got a life that she could never have in the natural.

God has promised us abundance and if we would serve God and follow after Him, we will have favour just as God has promised.

It must have taken a lot for Ruth to leave her circle of friends, family and tradition.

Because of her heart to serve Naomi, Ruth need not be told to go to the field to work, but she willingly goes to work to bring food for Naomi.

Let us hear what the Spirit of God is saying to us and let us obey as He gives us the direction.

Let us look for opportunities to serve the Lord and do our best for Him.
