By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

God has given us His Spirit as a witness and guarantee that we belong to Him.

Our true identity is established in Him in the spirit first through Christ and we work that out in our mind and body.

Now we are a spirit being in Christ where we are not led by our flesh but by our spirit. We abide in Christ when we walk in our spiritual identity in Christ.

Through God the Holy Spirit, we are able to take what is of the spirit and sow it in our hearts and mind.

Our hearts and mind start to produce the image of God in us and align our desires and passions according to His image.

In order to abide in Christ, we first must know Him and know what He has done for us in the spirit.

We need to spend time to know what Christ has done and established for us so that we can start to apply that to our mind and heart.

This promise is conditional. God sent Jesus to die and rose again and made himself available to abide in anyone who would receive Him as Lord and Saviour.

The condition is now we have to make a decision not only to believe but also to apply that decision into our daily lives.

Let us continue to abide in Him and walk as the children of God all the days of our lives.
