Matthew‬ ‭14‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is the account that displays Peter’s faith in the word that Jesus spoke.

That word that Jesus spoke ‘come’ held Peter above the natural and caused him to experience the supernatural.

Even though Peter started walking according to what Jesus has spoken but he let his surroundings affect him.

The moment his attention changed, he began sinking into the water.

Peter did not lose the power of God. He just gave into the natural instead of holding on to the word Jesus spoke.

Jesus said why did you doubt. In Greek - distazo, means to waver, to hesitate, double and it’s like having different thoughts when we are at our crossroads.

What Jesus displayed to Peter is why did you waver or had a different focus?

It’s like Jesus was saying to Peter, you were walking in the supernatural wonderfully, why do you change direction in your hearts?

Peter had already walked with his mind focused on Christ’s word. Why change what was working?

This is exactly what satan wants to do. Enticing us to take the bait, to speak, to see and to feel contrary to God’s word.

God wants us to be single minded when it comes to His word. To trust Him completely at all times.

Let us all keep our eyes on Christ, keep our hearts strong in Him and follow His word.

Blessings
