“Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.”
I Thessalonians 5:6 NKJV
Paul spoke about the saints being prepared and awakened to the things of God as children of the light and not darkness.
God’s children are to be equipped with the knowledge of what Christ has done and not to be ignorant of it.
If we do not know ourselves as children of the light then we are asleep, dormant and without power to expel darkness.
The truth of God reveals our identity, our authority and our inheritance in Christ Jesus.
Be watchful of what we speak.
Speak what God has spoken.
Believe what God has done.
Live in all that God has given.
To be sober in the Lord is to be aware of what we have received from Jesus.
We must not let anything bring us away from what Jesus has done for us.
We are to guard it and grow in it so that every part of us becomes so in-tuned with the image of Christ.
Let us all be awakened in all that Christ has done. Share it, teach it and build each other on it so that we will be a strong body of Christ.
