Romans 7:2 NKJV

The woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.

Romans 7:2 NKJV

Paul is using the law of marriage as an example.

The law of marriage shows us that two are bound together to abide by it as long as they both live.

In the same manner, the ten commandments that God gave the Israelites bound them as sinners because no one can fulfil all the ten commandments and keep them.

This flesh that is bound by sin needs to die. The law requires that it has to be the flesh that has no sin. Since all mankind are born as sinners, none can be qualified.

This is the reason Jesus who is holy and blameless came and became flesh for all mankind. His flesh is without sin. Therefore, through His death, all mankind who believe in Him dies in the flesh.

Through Him, every sin and every law that binds people is broken and set free. Hallelujah!

Therefore, we don't live by the law that keeps an account of the flesh but we live by the Spirit of God that accounts to His Image and likeness.

We are all dead in Christ and all power that once held us in bondage has no more power over us.

We have been freed from the law that binds us to sin to a law that liberates us by the power of God and His love.

Let us not live our life by giving account to the flesh but live a life reflecting His glory, power and love to all around us.

Blessings
