‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all *peoples* to Myself.””

‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This verse is a continuation from the subject of judgment that Jesus was talking about in the previous verse.

He talked about the judgment day, the day where sins of the world would be judged.

Therefore, Jesus being lifted up here is speaking about Him being punished, crucified for the judgment of sins for the entire world.

Just like Moses lifted up the bronze serpent in the wilderness, so shall Jesus be lifted up on that cross.

The word “people or men” is italicise because it was added in by the translators. It was not there in the original text.

What Jesus was saying here is that when He is lifted up on that cross, *He will draw all judgment upon Himself.*

Every payment for sin and death has been paid by Jesus for all mankind.

We are no longer subject to function under the influence of sin and death but with the life of God.

We no longer need to remind ourselves about our sins but remind ourselves about what Jesus has done on that cross.

We have been drawn to Christ to live in Him, move in Him and have our being in Him because of His death and resurrection.

If the accuser, satan, tries to accuse us of our sins, we don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Because the penalty for that accusation has been paid, and its list has been cleared by Christ's blood, and it exists no more.

This is the liberty that we have in Christ, that we are free from living under the consciousness of sin to living in the presence of God and being conscious of Him.

Everyone who lives conscious of God’s presence, who walks with Him and enjoys His love, will find it hard to sin.

Jesus became the payment for our judgment so that we can walk in His freedom.

Let us treasure what Christ has done and live life loving Him.

Blessings
