Matthew 22:44 NKJV
“‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” Matthew 22:44 NKJV
Jesus quoted from Psalm 110:1 to the Pharisees with regards to His identity but there is such powerful truth in it. A footstool is used to reach something higher, to go higher and to step up to another level. Jesus quoted what David said, “ to sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool." Our enemies become our footstool when we take our position to sit at God’s right hand. The word of God declares that Jesus through His death and resurrection has raised us up to sit together with Him in the heavenly places. That means every enemy before us is an opportunity for us all to step up higher in the kingdom of God. Enemies are not just people who hate us or cause us pain. There are many things and situations that can be our enemies. All of them can be our footstool to go higher if we choose to see them as a footstool. Every situation or circumstance that appear to us as an enemy is a potential footstool if we choose to see it as a potential footstool. We can be confident to believe that our enemies can be our footstool mainly because of the position we have in Christ. We face our enemies by sitting together with Christ who has overcome the world, who has defeated satan and all his works. We are more than conquerors, more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think. Let us look positively at our enemies as our potential footstool for us to continue to grow from glory to glory. Blessings
