“Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.”

The natural instinct of the fallen nature is to get defensive, be bitter and avenge those who wronged us.

Paul is emphasising godly character in this chapter by renewing our minds and by conforming to the image of Christ.

Therefore, we can reflect on Christ and bless those who curse us. We can bless those who curse us because when we are in Christ, everything the enemy does will have no effect on us.

We know who we are in Christ, we know our inheritance and we know whose image we now carry within us.

This elevates us to a place of total peace, confidence, and assurance against any bait that satan throws at us.

The enemy wants us to take his bait by avenging. We fall into his territory when we avenge.

The enemy knows that we cannot be defeated, manipulated, and be deceived if we remain in Christ.

Therefore, to avenge is to get us into the enemy’s territory and there is where we can be defeated.

God has given us the power over vengeance - it is called unconditional love. We love them because they do not know what they are doing as they are being used by the enemy to destroy lives.

By showing love to those who hurt us, it will solidify our stand in God and will display God’s glory that will change hearts.

By blessings them, we will put out the rage and it will make room for them to rethink their actions.

We need to display God’s character which is in us. Allowing the Holy Spirit of God to nurture us in Christ's image every day.

We should always be looking out for the good in everyone and do whatever we can to bring out the good in everyone.

Let us display Jesus daily no matter what people have done or will do to us.
