“but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

Eve knew the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of good and evil. She had no interest in it or thought about it until satan brought that up to her.

The knowledge that Eve had about God’s instruction was so clear yet it was ‬‬changed when she gave attention to what satan was showing her.

God wanted mankind to know only good and have no part of knowing evil. The knowledge of good will multiply more goodness, will cultivate goodness and share goodness with each other.

But the knowledge of evil will multiply evil, cultivate evil and will affect evil upon each other. Therefore, God did not want mankind to know evil but just good.

If we desire something that God had forbidden, we are opening the door for evil to multiply, to be cultivated and it will eventually affect others. Many know the consequences of doing what is wrong yet they do it because of their own passion to have it.

Every time we take the bait of satan, we are preparing ourselves, our loved ones and everyone around us for disaster. The appetite is greed, selfishness and lust.

God wants us to keep our minds and heart on Him where it will meet all our needs and not our wants. What we need satisfies our mind, soul and spirit. But what we want satisfies our flesh and it destroys our soul and spirit.

All our needs are taken care of in Christ Jesus our Lord and our Father is able to take care of us far beyond any richest man on earth because only God can satisfy all our needs.

As we believe, and follow God and His Word, we will enjoy the good that He had prepared before the foundation of the world. Let us keep our eyes on Christ and keep making the right choices to be in right standing with our good God.
