Genesis‬ ‭12:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Abraham, the father of many nations and a man of faith shows us what we should be building in our lives.

When Abraham heard from God to go out of his country and move towards the land that God will show him. Abraham obeyed and took everyone in his family, together with Lot and his family.

Here is a man who did not know where he will be going yet he is taking with him his family and others to the unknown. The responsibility and confidence of Abraham are clearly set on what God had said.

Abraham PITCHED HIS TENT and he BUILT an ALTAR.

This is a powerful statement of Abraham’s faith, trust and belief in God. Abraham did not build his tent and pitched an altar.

Abraham pitched his tent. Abraham is not interested in building a house or a tent for himself here on earth. He knows the place he wants to go. Every place he travelled, he pitched his tents.

Abraham built an altar. Building the kingdom of God is his priority. He built it as a permanent statement of his faith in God and pitched his tent so he could easily follow God as God leads him.

We have built too many things for ourselves in many ways. It is time we start building the kingdom of God and pitching our tents. Our mansion in heaven matches the altars we build here on earth.

Let us together build God’s kingdom and bring in the lost souls.

Blessings
