Acts 2:8 NKJV
“And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?”
Acts 2:8 NKJV
Receiving the Holy Spirit is power and life which moves us from the natural to the supernatural.
One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is speaking in an unknown tongue.
Many believers don’t speak in tongues because of many beliefs that speaking in tongues is no longer for today and that it discourages the people.
Speaking in tongues edifies ourselves, it builds our innermost being to be in tune with God.
There are also prophecies in tongues in which another person gives the interpretations of that tongues.
God uses the gift of tongues in this passage to communicate to the unbelievers the wonderful works of God.
In churches today we don’t speak in tongues because we don’t want to frighten people away.
In the book of Acts, the first church started because the believers were baptised in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues.
The first church spoke in tongues and brought 3000 souls into the kingdom in one day.
If we keep altering God’s word to fit our society, we will change the church and become more like the world.
If we keep believing and doing what God has said, we will keep altering the system of this world and become more like God.
What man cannot do, God does it supernaturally. We must not be ashamed of our supernatural language. It edifies us, builds the community and saves souls.
Let us get back to the basics that changed the world and get back to living in all the supernatural gifts God has given to the church.
Blessings
