Numbers 32:7 NKJV
Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them?
Numbers 32:7 NKJV
God's plan for the children of Israel was to cross over the Jordan to inherit the promised land.
And when the Israelites were ready to move, the tribe of Gad and the tribe of Reuben decided to stay at the land of Jazer and Gilead because they saw a land that was fit for their livestock.
They would rather settle for second best than what God has purposed for them.
The tribe of Gad and Ruben brought discouragement to the entire Israelite nation because they were not united with the plan of God and wanted what is good in their own eyes.
Moses warns and reminds them of the very reason the first generation did not enter the promised land.
They all died in the wilderness.
They wanted to settle for the second-best, wanted to follow their own desires, own thoughts and own plans therefore they were discouraged and destroyed.
When we step out in faith, we must not look at the circumstances, surroundings and situations. They can be deceiving us from the purposes of God in our lives.
Struggles, temptations, giants and discouragement are some of the enemies we need to discard and pay no attention to.
We need to keep our eyes on the promises of God and His truth because only God and His promises will bring us into His inheritance.
If we fail to move according to God's Word, we bring discouragement to others who are moving with God.
Every one of us is part of God's kingdom and every decision we make today will affect the whole body.
If we love God, we would love the body of Christ and do according to His will and not our own little plan.
Let us lay aside everything that might set us back and press on to the things that God has called us for His purpose.
Blessings
