John 10:11 NKJV
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
John 10:11 NKJV
Jesus gave us a picture of who He is. He paints a picture of a good shepherd. The greek word good is "kalos" which means noble, wholesome, good and beautiful. No one can sum up that characteristics except Jesus. Jesus proved that with His life and His sacrifice.
Jesus said only God is good because God is without sin. Therefore, Jesus is God in the form of flesh yet totally good.
Jesus is also called a good shepherd because of His desire for the sheep, that is us, to NOT to get by another day barely living but abundantly living. He wants us to be blessed with heaven's best. That is WHY God Himself would come to save us with His life.
Other shepherd grows the sheep for their own benefit but Jesus is a good shepherd that nurtures the sheep so that the sheep can enjoy the blessings and live to its full potential.
This is what makes the big difference between Jesus and all the religion that are out there.
Jesus is a Giver of life and desires His children to enjoy Him and His creation all the days of their lives.
There is no other god who desires to love and give like Jesus. No other god who died to take our place and no other god who has risen from the dead.
This is the reason why we can put our trust in Christ and be confident that our future is secure and our salvation is certain in Christ Jesus.
Let us continue to spread the gospel of Christ and speak of God's kingdom and that it has come.
