II Thessalonians 1:11 NKJV

Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,

II Thessalonians 1:11 NKJV

Paul wrote the letters to the Thessalonians believers who have been called and set apart by faith in Christ. Paul's prayers here is not that God would make them worthy because Paul teaches believers that we have already been made worthy by Jesus Christ.

What Paul is praying is that the Thessalonians will continue to hold on to their calling as children of the living God until the end.

Many start right with God but are led astray by their circumstances, pride and pleasures of the world.

God's glory manifest when those who have been called, hold on to Jesus, keep walking with Jesus and keep living in Him until the end.

God is not going to get any glory from people who give up halfway instead it does not reflect God as who He is when we give up.

God has made us worthy to be His children, giving us the rights to the inheritance of His kingdom. But can we appreciate God's gift of making us worthy until the end?

Are we willing to hold on to this gift of being worthy for him? Not bowing down to persecution, trials and tribulations?

Jesus laid down His life for us by giving everything up. He was persecuted, humiliated and punished while He had the power to wipe them out as the Son of God. Yet He humbled Himself to die for us on that cross.

Let us be worthy children of God that we too will humble ourselves until the end and bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings

Ps Ambrose
