John 4:21 NKJV
Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
John 4:21 NKJV
Jesus spoke that the new creation believers will not be limited by locations to worship the Father.
This does not suggest that we don't gather as a body to worship God. What Jesus is saying is through Him we become a spiritual temple, where the Holy Spirit dwells.
In the old covenant, worship was a ceremonial event where they perform in locations but in the new covenant, worshipping God is done in spirit and truth and it is a lifestyle.
The temple in the old covenant is the place where God dwells but in the new covenant, God dwells in us by His Spirit. We become the temple of the Holy Spirit.
This is great news. Jesus basically shows us that no distance, location nor time can stop us from worshipping our Father in heaven.
In the new covenant, God walks with us, lives in us and never leaves us nor forsakes us. For in Him we live, move and have our being.
This is what Jesus did for us through His death and resurrection. Now we can be worshipers of the Father any time and anywhere.
This is about our personal worship and our personal relationship with our Lord. As individuals, we are free to worship God all the days of our lives.
King David longed for the presence of God like how we enjoy today in Christ. David said one thing I desire and that is what I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
We have this privilege and honour to dwell in God's presence all the days of our lives.
Let us not take things for granted.
What we have is beyond precious, powerful and glorious.
Blessings
