Exodus 14:14 NKJV
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Exodus 14:14 NKJV
The Israelites complained, murmured and accused Moses of bringing them out to kill them. The Israelites were overwhelmed by the enemy because their eyes were fixed in the wrong place.
Moses encouraged the Israelites to hold their peace in God who is the deliverer and more powerful than Pharaoh and his army.
Moses realised that the people's attitude and their words can mess things up. Therefore, Moses told them to hold their peace.
Basically don't say a word, just stay still and follow the directions.
The spiritual battle is often lost because we fail to hold our peace and stay in God.
If we want God to fight our battles, then we need to hold our peace, hold our mouth from speaking negatively, don't do according to our feelings and anger but follow God's directions.
Too often we commit to God and take things into our own hands or we commit to God but don't follow His directions.
Moses commited to God his and the entire Israelites and followed God's directions.
Moses heard God in the midst of a negative and a complaining crowd.
We often go to a quiet place to hear God that is good but the majority of our lives is full of noises. If we don't train ourselves to hear God in the storm we will be like the Israelites, complaining and murmuring.
We need to train ourselves to hear God while we are busy at work, driving, gardening and doing our hobbies.
Jesus did not give His life for us so that we can give Him an hour in the morning or at night. Jesus gave His life for us so that we can live in Him 24 hours and 7 days a week.
Let us hold our peace and trust God in every area of our lives because the victory is already won in Christ.
Blessings
