“And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.”

When Jesus was baptised in the water, the heavens parted and God’s spirit came upon Him as a dove.

Jesus said to John that this needs to be done to fulfill all righteousness.

When Jesus walked in obedience to fulfill God’s word, Jesus did not send prayers up to heaven but heaven opened and the Spirit of God came down.

The contrast between obedience and sacrifice. Sacrifices continue to go up to please God but obedience brings God’s presence down here on earth.

Many strive and sacrifice their life to serve God. They get burnt out and discouraged.

But obeying and doing what God has told us to do causes us to experience God in a mighty way.

Jesus came to fulfill all righteousness and He finished it on the cross.

Now He is at the right hand of the Father and has prepared a place for us to sit together with Him in the heavenly places.

Now it is no longer trying to send prayers up to heaven. It is time to bring and establish heaven here on earth.

That is what Jesus taught His disciples to pray, His kingdom come and His will be done.

Let us not attempt to do anything for God with our own intentions but know Him first and all our desires will change according to His will.

Let us walk in obedience and follow Him so that we will experience heaven here on earth.
