Titus 1:5 NKJV
“For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you—”
Titus 1:5 NKJV
Paul’s message to Titus reveals many important details to take note of for the healthy growth of the church.
Titus was given the assignment to appoint leaders, expose false teachings, establish sound teachings, and correct doctrinal errors.
There are things that need to be in place for the body of Christ to grow healthy.
For there are many who have gone into doing things according to their own convenience.
Many don’t go to church because they think they don’t have to.
God's words say we are a living stone fitted into His building. A brick on its own cannot support a structure and cannot be a building.
A brick not put into a building is useless and has lost its purpose. But when it is put into a structure of God, there is no limit to how big it can become.
Therefore, it is important to be part of a community of believers so that we are bonded in God to achieve God’s purpose.
There will be leaders, pastors, and teachers who will keep the believing community safe and sound from falsehood.
It is important that we submit to the leadership that leads people in the truth of God’s word.
Paul who preached grace never told people to be isolated to live without a community.
He appointed Titus to help the community of believers to stay strong, true, and faithful to the gospel of God’s kingdom.
Let us be teachable, humble, and receptive to God’s leading every day.
Blessings
