Matthew‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭NKJV‬

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ In the beatitudes, Jesus is teaching us principles that are important to receive all that God has in store for us. Jesus is teaching this to the disciples and to those that believe in Him. It is so important for us to understand because we need to constantly come to a place of acknowledgement that it is God and in Him alone that we can have all that God has promised. This is so because we will walk by faith and not by sight. This is so that we do walk on our own understanding and our own judgement. Blessed are the poor does not talk about we have to be poor materially or we must suffer lack all the time. Blessed are the poor in spirit means to be humble or empty in our spirit. Therefore, we need to approach God with humility and emptying every philosophy of men. Blessed are the poor is to read, study and learn the word of God wIth complete trust and reliance and be totally yielded to the Holy Spirit to reveal and teach us. It is a blessed thing to empty out all of the information that the world has told us of who we are and replace it with who we are in Him. It is a blessed thing to empty out temporary things in our spirit and replace it with the eternal things of God. A completely empty cup can be filled with pure uncontaminated water. But an old exposed water can contaminate the new water that God wants to pour in. Let us always come before God and see Him as who He is and what He has done for us. Blessings
