‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭NKJV

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The very same word spoken in the Old Testament is the greatest commandment for us in the New Testament. Jesus Christ established this covenant through His death and resurrection.

Now we live in this covenant as a child of the living God. Our fellowship with God is intimate and without any separation in the spirit.

The only separation we can experience is in the area of our mind and the flesh. But if we can bring our mind and flesh to obedience to Christ then we will have spirit, soul and body yielded to the Lord.

Keeping the first commandment which is to love the Lord our God is the most important part of our life as a believer.

This is not about attending church, prayer meeting or soaking sessions but it’s about coming to know our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit intimately.

Everyone who has an encounter with the Almighty God will never be the same again.

The passion, love, grace and everything of the Lord will begin to bubble forth from that person.

People who love the Lord are doers of the word. But people who are doers of the word do not necessarily love God.

Many people know the word of God but don’t know God, because they go by their own experiences, own knowledge and own reasoning instead of God.

This is the greatest and the most important commandment we are to keep living in. There is no expiry date for this season for it is for a lifetime.

Everything we do comes out of being. If truly we are being in God, we will be doing that which our Father would be doing right now.

Let us continue to know God, continue to undo the old image and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the true heart of our heavenly Father.

Blessings
