Galatians 1:3 NKJV
“Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,”
Galatians 1:3 NKJV
In this letter, Paul brought strong corrections to the Galatians. Paul has preached to them the kingdom of God and how it is by grace that we are all saved through faith.
There are many Jews who have been born again and believe in Jesus but they also want to incorporate the law and the rituals, emphasising the need to keep the law.
The Jewish believers were saying yes we will believe but Jesus alone is not enough thus we also have to keep the law.
This is why Paul came against the religious beliefs that brought the law back into their life.
Paul's emphasis here in the beginning is that it is the grace of God that we all have received through Jesus Christ and the reason we can be at peace with God.
Everything, every spiritual gift, blessings and life all comes from God as a gift.
To believe in Jesus is to align ourselves with what He has done for us.
God our Father would not send Jesus to die for us so that we still keep living in the law.
It is so that we can be free from the law. The law is there to say we are not justified, therefore, we need to keep justifying ourselves.
But Jesus is in our lives to declare that we have been justified by His grace.
By God’s grace, we are at peace with God our Father and there is nothing we need to do to earn it. It has been given to us through Christ.
We must not have a belief system that reflects that what Christ has done is not enough.
Anything we want to add to the work of the cross is going backwards, back to the law.
Therefore, let us live in the abundance of God’s unmerited favour, and His grace and remain in the finished work of Christ.
Blessings
