Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Just before this verse, the psalmist said that God saw his substance, his being yet unformed. This speaks about the provision, plans and wonders that God prepared first before setting us all on our courses.

Here in this verse, the psalmist talks about God’s thoughts toward us and how great are they toward us.

God’s plans for each one of us are so great and so mighty. He sent His Son Jesus to help mankind to get started in what God had prepared before the foundation of the world.

There is so much to thank God for and so much abundance that surrounds our lives that shouts the goodness of God.

Yet how often we let the small things, some news and our feelings drown the thoughts of God.

If we can hold and maintain the thoughts of God over our lives, we will stay above and not beneath.

Aligning our thoughts according to God’s thoughts about us will build us up in walking the course He had prepared for us.

Running the race and staying on course is so crucial in our walk with God.

We can effectively run our race if our thoughts are towards what Christ has already prepared for us.

Paul said that he pressed on towards the goal of the upward call of God.

It is the same principle. All we need to do is run the race and stay on course on the goal that God has set.

Let our hearts and minds be lifted towards “how great are the sum of them”.

Let us keep looking unto Christ who has prepared all for us.
