Psalms 123:1 NKJV
“Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.”
Psalms 123:1 NKJV
The psalmist is praying, knowing that God is the only source of their help.
They did not have the blessings that we have in Christ today and they certainly did not have the new covenant that we have today in Christ.
But the principle of lifting our eyes unto God is very powerful. To whom we lift our eyes will dominate our five senses and will take the lead to actions.
If we lift our eyes unto God, if we look at His power, if we look at His strength and if we look at His glory. That visual will begin to dominate our five senses.
We will begin to see how big we are in God and how small is the challenges that is in front of us.
If we lift our eyes and focus on the problems, on sickness and lack. That will bring us down to depression, anxiety and we begin to lose heart.
Fixing our eyes unto Jesus and towards all of His promises is like gazing into the possibilities of living in God’s abundance.
Our eye gate is important. We cannot expect to live in God’s abundance if we keep looking at the problems.
What God desires is that we would see what He has given and what He has done.
So that each one of us can lift up our heads and walk in boldness and in the power of His resurrection.
Let us all keep looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.
Blessings
