‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Philemon‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But without your consent I wanted to do nothing, that your good deed might not be by compulsion, as it were, but voluntary.”

‭‭Philemon‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul wanted to send back Onesimus to serve in the local church from which he came from.

Paul honoured the local leadership and discussed with them his plans for the kingdom of God.

We are all serving the Lord together and our main objective is to expand His kingdom and not to achieve our personal ambitions.

This is an important principle that we have to constantly remember, we are serving the Lord.

There will always be some misunderstanding, some mistakes but we must not let that dominate our decisions.

God’s kingdom has to be our main focus and we must adjust everything else to serve the purpose of God’s kingdom.

Paul also stressed that we cannot serve God out of compulsion but out of willingness.

Doing things out of compulsion will cause us to be bitter, angry and upset about things that we should be rejoicing.

Serving God is a great privilege, a great honour and we should serve with a joyful heart.

We can all give ten thousand reasons to be upset or we can also have ten thousand reasons to rejoice and praise our Lord.

Let us all set our eyes, hearts and minds to serve the Lord and make our priority to expand His kingdom.

Blessings
