“He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭14‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The gift of the Holy Spirit is such a powerful gift from God to empower us to live a spirit-filled life.

Praying in the spirit edifies us from the inside out. It build us to be in tune with God and causes us to flow with the mind and heart of God.

We get sharper and stronger to flow in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit as we spend time praying in tongues.

We can’t prophesy with our own power, heal someone or deliver someone with our own strength.

It is all done by the power of God’s spirit and praying in tongues edifies our spirit to be in tune with God for the work He has called us.

If we have not received the gift of tongues, pray and ask God to baptise and by faith begin to let the Holy Spirit flow.

God wants to give it to us freely. For He knows that without the power of the Holy Spirit, we cannot do much in the world.

If we long to prophesy but have not been edified by God’s Holy Spirit. We may prophesy with what we know with our own understanding instead of what God is saying to us.

But if we are tuned in with God by the power of His Spirit, then we can be assured to be hearing God and the things He wants to reveal.

We cannot give what we don’t have, we cannot strengthen others if we are drowning in our weaknesses.

But if we are lifted in the Holy Spirit, no matter how the situation looks like, every part of us will be lifted with confidence to serve and deliver His word.

Let’s not take things for granted and start praying in the spirit all the days of our lives.

Blessings
