.“but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

Paul taught and told Timothy how to carry himself in the house of God, to have reverence, not to the building but to reflect Christ to all in the church.

Paul said that the church of the living God is the PILLAR and ground of the truth.

Interestingly, Paul would speak of the importance of being part of a church congregation that comes together.

Paul gave a picture of a pillar. What supports the pillar to stand is the foundation and what supports the wall of the house to live in is the pillar.

There is no house with only a foundation, there is no house with only pillars and there is no house with only walls.

Every liveable house is made out of these 3 main structures.

Jesus is the foundation, the church becomes the pillar that is anchored in Christ and together we become a wall of protection from the enemy.

To isolate ourselves from congregating as a church is living life without pillars and walls.

God gave birth to His church and Jesus said I will build my Church. If we are not a part of it then we are missing something important as a family of God.

Don’t live with self-centred ideas, God’s ideas are always about a community, He appoints individuals to become a stone in the house He is building.

We need to hold on to the truth of God as a church, growing strong for His kingdom and for His glory.

We need to gather to be the voice in this world.

We need each other to be united as a church of God and change the world.

Let us build our lives on the foundation that Jesus laid for us and become pillars that carry the truth of God to the world.
